Internships
From Autumn 2008, we will be looking for motivated students to participate in our project ‘Predator-prey-relationships between lynxes, roe deer and red deer’. We offer internships with many possibilities to learn about project management, field ecology, and doing research in large nature conservation areas. Candidates should ideally have completed a first degree / Bachelor’s degree, and be available for a period of at least 3 months. They should be confident using ArcGIS 9.1 as well as the main MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). A knowledge of statistics skills and tools such as SPSS and R is particularly desirable. We expect you to work independently on a subproject under our supervision, and to conclude your work with a brief presentation and a report on your results.
Theses
Since we are currently supervising 5 degree candidates, we are unable to take on the supervision of further theses (Degree, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses). However, from Autumn 2008, we will be happy to take enquiries from interested and highly motivated students (Diplom, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees), who are confident using ArcGIS 9.1 as well as MS Office, who will be able to work independently and who are willing to become an integral part of our team.
If you are interested in doing an internship or thesis with us, please send a brief email to Marco Heurich
Your email should reflect what kinds of expectations you have regarding your internship, and where your interests lie, as well as a subject area for your thesis, and for which period of time you would be available.
